Qibli and winter discuss what might be happening to Turtle in captivity and Darkstalker’s promise to Moon that he would not hurt her friends. Winter compares Darkstalker’s “tricks with words” to Qibli (193). They watch Moon and Kinkajou discuss Darkstalker in the Obsidian Mirror. Moon asserts the giant dragon’s goodness and Kinkajou angrily leaves.Next, they watch Darkstalker as he begins giving superpowers to the NightWings. Finally, they view Tsunami and discover she’s being held prisoner, but they are unsure where or who is holding her captive. They decide to return to Jade Mountain.

Qibli and Winter find Anemone as they are returning to Jade Mountain. She is enchanted and unable to speak. She is also hiding from Darkstalker. Qibli gives her an earring that breaks Darkstalker’s enchantment. Anemone notices that Qibli is wearing her weather-changing bracelets. She tries to take them back, but Qibli convinces her to let him keep them in case they are needed to fight Darkstalker. Anemone agrees to lead them to the Night Kingdom.
