Dungeon Crawler Carl Part 1, Chapters 20-27 Summary & Analysis

Part 1, Chapter 20 Summary

Still in the safe room, Carl and Donut encounter the murderous crawler, Frank, who carries a battle ax, heavy boots, and wears shoulder pads but no gun that Carl can see. Frank does not have any stars by his name, so he has not killed any bosses. However, he has three skulls by his name, which means that he has killed three other crawlers. Frank is at Level 8 in his skills. He tells Carl that he dragged a cot into the women’s room to sleep. Carl tells him that he never saw his dot on the mini-map, but Carl explains that sleeping crawlers have no icons on the map. If a crawler is sleeping, they are translucent, and another crawler cannot touch them.

Donut, who has been hissing and growling during this conversation, accuses Frank of killing Rebecca. Frank assures them that he had no choice. They go into the other room to finish watching the show’s latest episode. Frank explains that he and his partner, Maggie, worked for ICE and were outside a building when the collapse happened. They had a gunfight with several people, including Rebecca. Maggie was also killed.

Donut falls for this story, but Carl does not believe it.
