The first day at court comes and goes. Denny returns home with Zoe, having gained visitation rights. Mark Fein comes to take her back to Maxwell and Trish later. Denny and Enzo are bolstered by a renewed sense of hope.

Chapter 41 Summary

Enzo recalls the famous racer Luigi Chinetti, who brought Ferrari to the United States. He also offers praise for endurance racers who have the strength and will to keep excelling. He wonders if a child somewhere in the world inherited Chinetti’s soul, and the experiences and skills that came with it.

Chapter 42 Summary

One year later, Denny and Zoe are racing each other in go karts. She instinctively anticipates his driving and doesn’t let him pass. Enzo contemplates that Denny sustains himself on the knowledge that Zoe is quicker, better, and smarter than him.
