In Cai’s room, Devon sees that he’s been reading her text messages from Ramsey. Cai becomes angry at Devon for keeping secrets. Devon admits that she’s been working with Ramsey, as Ramsey has the power to kill Cai at any moment. She tells him about their past and about Jarrow and agrees to always tell him the truth. Cai agrees to stay by her side as long as she takes him with her to meet Jarrow.

Devon and Cai arrive in Brighton. It’s the first time either of them has seen the sea. At the water’s edge, Devon watches for Jarrow. They go to their hotel, and then Devon returns to meet Jarrow. He’s accompanied by his sister, Vic. He fills Devon in on his exile from his family and encourages Devon to come away with them. Devon tells him about Cai’s explosive. Jarrow wants Devon to abandon Cai, and they begin to argue. Vic comes to Devon’s defense and encourages Jarrow to help. They come up with a plan to make a device that blocks the signal around Cai’s explosive.
