STUDY OBJECTIVES: In accomplishing the components of this Unit, students will:
- Gain an understanding of the historical and literary contexts of Lewis Carroll and his 1865 novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland that drive Beddor’s re-imagining of characters, setting, and plot.
- Analyze short, paired texts and other resources to make connections via the text’s themes of The Importance of Emotional Balance, Belief as a Tool of Empowerment, and Identity and Responsibility Beyond the Individual.
