Protagonist/Central Conflict: Roz the robot opens her eyes for the first time and finds herself alone on a remote island where her only hope for survival is to adapt and learn from the animals. The island eventually starts to feel like home, until Roz’s mysterious past catches up with her.
Bio: American writer and illustrator; grew up in New Jersey; has been telling stories and drawing since he was young; studied illustration at Art Center College of Design; worked on animated TV shows when he signed a deal for his first three books; recipient of many awards for his work, including a Caldecott Honor, two E. B. White Awards, a Golden Kite Award, and many others
